I have been to Sicily on holiday before and we did not get robbed. It is really nice in Sicily and the people are nice.
If you don’t look Italian then they’re going to know. And even if you do they will see you might not always know where you’re going & you may have to pull out your map. It’s pretty obvious to them, not much you can do about it. Leave valuables in your hotel or youth hostel safe & wear a money belt under your clothes, that’s what I did.
