I also married an Italian and I moved to Italy, from America, and stayed there for about 5 years. We also stayed in Sicily. Sicilians are very very hospitable and friendly. Everyone will invite you over their house and your gonna eat so much you wont be able to move – so get ready!!! And the food is Great!!!
It is not dangerous at all, dont worry bout that.
They have alot of water sports, since it’s an island, you can also climb the only active volcano in Sicily right near Catania- Mt. Etna. You can take a vespa all over the place.
It’s a great place to visit and the culture is great. Oh, and get ready for the noise cause they like to talk loud.
    You’ll have a great time.

There is a new show called The Generations Project where they take every day people who have questions about their family history. Tonight they are showing a really cool story about a girl who learns about her Sicilian great grandparents and she travels to The Hill in St. Louis. It will play tonight at 8pm MST on BYU Television. They have a Facebook page if you want more information.
I just thought you would be interested. I love your blog!

First off let me say it’s a beautiful place. You’ll love it. Second, so much fun. Beaches, shopping, museums…there is so much to do there. It is completely and utterly gorgeous there! Weather is so nice! People will treat you like family, even if they know you or not. Hope you have a great time, and congrats on the wedding!
